With my chopper out of action, I suddenly needed something else to fiddle with so getting on to the Brisbane mesh moved off the backfiring for a little while.gt;gt;After getting myself a decent antenna from rfshop I set to work on rigging up a slightly stronger test mount for it.gt;gt;After about an hour of fiddling and tweaking, and also realizing that metal brackets do a better job of holding up a 4m pole (than electrical tape
) I was online and quite happy.gt;gt;This is the first connection I have actually passed data over on the mesh, so it is a good sign that with a proper mounting, and housing for the AP, connecting to the mesh should not be too much of a problem.gt;gt;Either way it was time to pull it down as the sun was fading fast. Another small step forward to having a permanent lightning rod attached to our roof
Well after a good run from my old MS Wireless desktop KB + Mouse, I decided (after my 'a' and 'e' stopped working) that it may be time for a new keyboard.gt;gt;Being as implusive as I am, I decided to go for a Logitech G15 keyboard, and a G7 mouse. Its funny with gear like this because I never realised how unresponsive and inaccurate my previous mouse was, untill I used this one. Also having a backlit keyboard is great for those 10pm gaming sessions to help avoiding starting to type one key too far to the rightgt;gt;;ole yjodgt;gt;Yea that sux hard.gt;gt;gt;gt;Also notice the super ergonomic wrist gel thingy that I needed to get because of the "redesign" of my keyboard tray due to the insane hugeness of this Keyboard.gt;gt;And yes that is cardboard visable under the keyboard
gt;gt;Also another point to note is the coolness of the LCD on this keyboard. I have great little plugins for Teamspeak that tell me who is talking, and also a good one for MSN, which shows me when people are trying to spam me, from ingame, which allows me to decide whether or not its worth the alt+tab to reply
Without the real crashing, cost and failure of cheap and crappy yum-cha brand helicopters.gt;gt;No sooner had my chopper died in the ass when my copy of realflight G3 arrived
gt;gt;gt;gt;Theoretically this allows me to practice flying while my chopper is out of action, but I must say that without being able to play on the sim for a bit, then go straight out and do it for real, the motovation is somewhat lacking.gt;gt;This downtime while my chopper has been out of action has also re-inspired me to look another pointless endevour and getting onto the Brisbane mesh
Well my little chopper has finally had something die which is beyond my ablity to fix with dodgy DIY bits and fiberglass.gt;gt;In a very anticlimatic end one of the two servos decided it wanted to die mid flight, resulting in a not-so-graceful landing. Fortunatly for me there was actually no damage in this landing as it was only about 1.5m from the ground when the failure occured.gt;gt;A cheap ass replacement servo has been ordered off ebay and now i just gotta wait for it.gt;gt;Also that brand of juice is really quite nice, I suggest people try it.
